Community Partner Celebrations, Updates, and Funding Renewals

Each year, SV2 Lead Partners (champions of our Community Partners / Grantees) share updates and funding renewal recommendations with our Grantmaking and Impact Investment Review Committee (GIIRC). This meeting happened on June 15th, and was open to all SV2 Partners. We celebrated the inspiring and resilient accomplishments (organizational health and social impact) of our alumni and current Community Partners, learned about community strengths, challenges, and opportunities, and ways to support. We’re proud to share that the GIIRC unanimously approved unrestricted funding renewals. SV2 Partners can listen to the recording and access resources here.

Welcome, New Partners & Renewing Partners!

Elaine MacDonald is committed to supporting social impact, primarily through consulting and facilitation services.  Most recently, she served as the Executive Director of Harvard Business School Community Partners-Northern California, a nonprofit dedicated to connecting business management talent to community needs. She currently serves on a couple of school boards, and is interested in further supporting gender and racial equity. Peter MacDonald currently works at Snowflake and serves on the Board of Alpha Public Schools.  Peter is interested in advancing education opportunities for underserved populations.

Elaine and Eric Hahn live in Palo Alto and have two grown sons. Elaine worked as a corporate attorney but considers her current job title to be “nonprofit enthusiast”. For the past nine years, Elaine served on the Board of Children’s Health Council, as well as serving in an advisory capacity for several other nonprofits. Eric recently retired as the principal of Inventures Group, and from the Board of Proofpoint, of which he was the founder. He also served for many years on the Board of the Computer History Museum. Eric and Elaine’s philanthropy has largely focused on education and the well-being of children, housing and food insecurity, and environmental causes.
