SV2 Impact Investing Annual Portfolio Review

Bring your lunch and join us online for SV2’s Annual Impact Investment Portfolio Review. This event will highlight the impact of our work from FY 2024-25 and provide updates on our current portfolio.


Each month, SV2 hosts two pitch meetings featuring early-stage, mission-driven social ventures raising seed funding. Through our immersive impact investing process, we bring together both seasoned and new investors to source, screen, select, and support entrepreneurs driving social impact.


In place of our September pitch meeting, we’re excited to showcase the traction and impact stories of our 31 current portfolio companies. We encourage you to bring a friend who’s curious about impact investing. We also warmly welcome SV2 Donor Partners who haven’t yet engaged with our impact investing work to join us.

California Equity Journey (CEJ) 

Friday, September 26 - Monday, September 29, 2025 | In Person | Modesto & Salinas/Watsonville Area

The California Equity Journey (CEJ) is a four-day, immersive, experiential learning journey that will foster a deeper understanding of the impacts of inequity, poverty, and injustice on local communities. The trip will have a special focus on water, sustainable agriculture, and farmworker experiences. Those who take this learning journey will broaden their California lens, get to know amazing local leaders and resilient communities, and be inspired to shape a more just and equitable future for our beautiful and challenging state. Kate Schuelke

Kate Schuelke has more than 35 years of experience representing technology companies both in-house and at international law firms. She is the former Chief Legal Officer at Seagate Technology, a multinational manufacturer of data storage solutions, where she was responsible for the company’s legal, government affairs, and security functions. Prior to joining Seagate, she was Senior Vice President, General Counsel, and Secretary at Altera Corporation, during which time she helped negotiate that company's purchase by Intel Corporation.


Kate began her career at an international law firm litigating intellectual property law, business, and securities class action cases. She also worked at a European law firm where she counseled clients on intellectual property protection, business formation questions, and market expansion and she was a Fulbright Scholar lecturer on U.S. intellectual property (IP) law in Poland. She currently serves on the board of directors of SiTime Corporation, a Nasdaq-listed semiconductor company.


Kate received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics from the University of Buffalo and received her Juris Doctor from New York University School of Law. Kate enjoys spending time with her partner, Mark Anzalone, who will also be involved in SV2, her two sons who are in their first and third years of law school, and her four sisters. She is looking forward to giving back to the Silicon Valley community through involvement with SV2.

Mark Anzalone

Mark Anzalone is a marketing executive and transformation leader with more than two decades of experience scaling growth and building operational excellence across healthcare, pharma, financial services, and consumer verticals. A valuable partner to private equity and early public companies alike, he specializes in aligning marketing strategy with business goals to deliver measurable value — often leading enterprise-wide change and modernizing global marketing ecosystems in the process.

Mark has held senior leadership roles at Pfizer, Wyeth, Wells Fargo and multiple global agencies. He co-founded and served as Managing Partner at The OTO Group, a contract marketing organization supporting private equity-backed and multinational healthcare clients through re-commercialization licenses.He holds a BA in Advertising from the University of Oregon, and executive certifications from Notre Dame and the American Association of Advertising Agencies (AAAA) Institute for Advanced Advertising Studies.

Steve Mazer

Steve Mazer is an operations management executive who designs, implements, and manages the infrastructure and processes that support an organization's mission. With expertise across operational areas including HR, IT, real estate, procurement, and finance, Steve started his career in the private sector, then spent more than 20 years in public service, most recently as the Chief Administrative Officer of the State Bar of California, the nation's largest attorney licensing and regulatory agency. Now retired from government, Steve is seeking opportunities to continue serving the public good, both
professionally and in a volunteer capacity. He is a Vice President of his synagogue and a member of the San Francisco Jewish Community Federation's Jewish Pride Fund. He is excited to participate in SV2's unique approach to philanthropy and social impact.
