Pitch a Cause Close To Your Heart

Have an exceptional nonprofit you'd like to share with others? An area of social impact you’re passionate about? All are welcome to come learn from SV2 Partners about the causes closest to their hearts. Current SV2 Partners will have three minutes to pitch one nonprofit, social enterprise, or social impact cause they support. We’ll share information on all organizations afterwards for those who would like to learn more.

135 Changemakers Celebrate the End of Summer


On the last Sunday of August, SV2 community members connected with old friends and new at the home of SV2 Partners Aarti and Asheem Chandna. We enjoyed the musical stylings of an SFJAZZ youth trio ensemble and inhaled fresh gelato and boba lattes from local food entrepreneurs under one-hundred-year-old redwoods.

Upcoming Workshop:

Developing a Strategy for Social Change

Wednesday, 9/28 | 10:00am - 12:00pm | Zoom


Join us for an interactive workshop taught by Paul Brest, faculty co-director of the Stanford Center on Philanthropy and Civil Society. You will learn how to assess an organization’s strategy for social change or develop your own—from defining the problem you’re trying to solve and understanding its causes, to developing a theory of change for solving it and agreeing on indicators of progress for its implementation.

September Monthly Pitches

Our Impact Investing Group (IIG), led by SV2 Partner Leaders Aarti Chandna, Jason Chen, and Werner Goetz, has launched FY22-23 impact investing. This week, we will hear from two exciting social enterprise startups as well as share how we are growing our impact investing practice at SV2. We hope you will join our group to learn and lead at the cutting edge of this growing trend in modern giving.

WELCOME NEW PARTNER

Seimi Chu

Seimi's chief goal in life is to help people live meaningfully through giving and leadership. Her time helping indigent individuals at the Superior Court of California opened her eyes to the disparity between people with and without power. She worked on child custody, dissolution and temporary restraining orders with self-represented litigants who could not afford lawyers. Seimi received a B.A. and M.A. from Stanford University. She performed with the Stanford Symphony Orchestra as a harpist and served as President of Stanford Pre-Law Society and Korean Students Association. Seimi currently works at the Laura Arrillaga-Andreessen Foundation as a Senior Program Analyst.

One Life Counseling Center | Mental Health

September 22nd is the Night of Inspiration is our premier annual fundraising event, with a goal of raising $350,000 to fund critical programs at One LIfe Counseling Services. Funds raised will directly support our individual counseling, school based counseling and group therapy programs, and community services such as Music & Memory, Suicide Prevention, as well as training, therapy and support for other non-profit entities like the Police Activities League, local first responders, and bay area churches.
