SV2 Impact Investing | April Monthly Pitches

Wednesday, 4/17 | 11:30am - 1:00pm | Zoom

The SV2 Impact Investing Group (IIG) meets monthly to hear two social enterprise startups pitch. Partners are invited to provide input on the pitches and volunteer to participate on due diligence teams. All SV2 Partners are welcome to begin regularly attending IIG meetings at any point in the year or are welcome to attend meetings on a drop-in basis. Immediately following the Monthly Pitches, the Investment Committee (IC) convenes to hear the due diligence reports from the previous month and make investment decisions on behalf of SV2. All Partners in IIG are welcome to observe the IC Meetings immediately following the Monthly Pitches.

Tech for Good Grant Round Meeting #3 | Learning + Sharing

Tuesday, 4/23 | 12:30pm - 2:30pm | Hybrid

In Meeting #3, SV2 Partners will go deeper in their learning about the five applicant organizations by discussing the coffee chats and financial review. This meeting will be in person at SV2 with Zoom option. Lunch will be provided at SV2.

SV2 Happy Hour - San Francisco

Wednesday, 4/24 | 5:00pm - 7:00pm | In Person

Please join us at an SV2 Happy Hour in San Francisco on Wednesday, April 24 for drinks and nibbles at the South Beach home of SV2 Partners Kathryn Phillips and Gary Grellman. We will also have a short presentation by Jim Fruchterman, founder and former CEO of Benetech and founder and current CEO of Tech Matters. Join us for what promises to be a fascinating discussion about tech for good, and how professionals who want to give back can best engage and support the social sector. Health Equity Interest Group

This Partner-led group meets monthly to learn more about health inequities in the US. We pick a different topic to dive into each month, and attendees are encouraged to look at these or do some research on their own on the topic in advance. Topics are posted 2-3 weeks ahead of time on the mysv2 platform and emailed to everyone who is registered. Please reach out to Deb Dauber with any questions.

Tech for Good Grant Round Meeting #4 | Grant Decision

Tuesday, 5/7 | 12:30pm - 2:30pm | Hybrid

In Meeting #4 on Zoom, SV2 Grant Round participants will discuss the five finalist organizations using SV2’s rubric categories, and vote for two organizations. These two organizations will receive 3-year unrestricted grants of $75,000 each. Participants must be present at this Zoom meeting in order to vote.

SV2 Annual Impact Investment Portfolio Review

Bring your lunch and join us online for our SV2 Annual Impact Investment Portfolio Review. In May, instead of a pitch meeting, we are proud to highlight the market traction and impact stories of our 26 current portfolio companies. We encourage you to bring a friend interested in impact investing, and we also warmly welcome SV2 Donor Partners who have not been involved in impact investing to join us. Most months, our Impact Investing Group (IIG) hears two pitches from early-stage, mission-driven social ventures raising seed funding. Through our immersive impact investing process, we bring seasoned and new investors together to source, screen, select, and support investments in entrepreneurial innovators making a national or global impact on “people” through economic opportunity, “planet” through environmental sustainability, and “place” through thriving communities. Family Philanthropy Interest Circle

The Family Philanthropy Interest Circle is a Partner-led group which provides a safe space to explore giving experiences, successes, and challenges in an ongoing, intimate setting. If you are a current Partner with a family foundation, a donor advised fund, family office, or some other structured family giving vehicle, please join us. This event is for current SV2 Donor Partners only, and is led by Deb Dauber.

Brittny Bottorf

Brittny is a co-founder partner of Insight Counsel LLP, a law firm dedicated to providing clarity and understanding about workplace misconduct and conflict. Brittny has served on various non-profit Boards. Professionally, Brittny frequently works with nonprofits to help resolve conflict within the workplace. Brittny lives in Marin County with her partner, Steve, and their adorable Shih Tzu. Brittny enjoys swimming in the San Francisco Bay, the colder the better!

One Life Counseling

Want to make a difference but don’t have a lot of time to volunteer? We love food donations on Fridays for our Monday Markets. One Life’s Monday Market serves over 1,200 meals. Bring any shelf stable donations at 1033 Laurel St. San Carlos and we will get them to clients with food insecurity. More Info here.

Food Distribution with Redwood City Together

Join us for some community volunteering! This is a monthly food distribution where 200-250 families benefit from free groceries. This is an exciting in person volunteer opportunity to be in community with Redwood City Together, our new Community Initiative Grantee Partner. World Café 2024

This year's World Café will highlight supporting unhoused individuals and de-stigmatizing mental health supports for unhoused communities. Come learn from local leaders and community members, express your own perspective, and enjoy a free dinner in a welcoming space!
