Charity and Richard Silkebakken
Richard is a Distinguished Design Automation Engineer at Nvidia Corporation. He leads the infrastructure team and has been in the computer graphics industry for 30 years. He served the Silicon Valley Monterey Bay Council of Scouts BSA for
fourteen years, as Den Leader, Assistant Scoutmaster, and most recently as District Commissioner. An Eagle Scout himself, he has supported many boys along the path, including their own son. Charity has a background in software product management, stepping away from industry for the past two decades to focus on her family and community. During that time she has volunteered in their children’s classrooms, served on the PTA and Band Boosters, the Troop 14 Committee, and run a home-based cake artistry business for seven years. She has lately been assisting a friend start a human services nonprofit in the Philippines. Both have served on the board of their former church. As empty-nesters, they are now looking for new ways to engage with their community.
