SV2 Impact Investing | June Monthly Pitches

Wednesday, 6/11 | 11:30am - 1:00pm | Zoom

The SV2 Impact Investing Group meets monthly on Zoom to hear two social enterprise startups pitch. Partners are invited to provide input on the pitches and volunteer to participate on due diligence teams. All SV2 Partners are welcome to begin regularly attending pitch meetings at any point in the year or are welcome to attend meetings on a drop-in basis. Immediately following the pitch meeting, the Investment Committee (IC) convenes to hear the due diligence reports from the previous month and make investment decisions on behalf of SV2. All Partners are welcome to observe the IC Meetings immediately following the pitch meeting.

California Equity Journey (CEJ)

Friday, September 26 - Monday, September 29, 2025 | In Person | Modesto & Salinas/Watsonville Area

The California Equity Journey (CEJ) is a four-day, immersive, experiential learning journey that will foster a deeper understanding of the impacts of inequity, poverty, and injustice on local communities. The trip will have a special focus on water, sustainable agriculture, and farmworker experiences. Those who take this learning journey will broaden their California lens, get to know amazing local leaders and resilient communities, and be inspired to shape a more just and equitable future for our beautiful and challenging state. John St. John

John is a Principal AI Applied Scientist at NVIDIA, where he is on a team focused on bringing the latest AI advancements to problems in drug discovery. For the past 14 years, John has worked in biotech and diagnostic startups (as well as on specialized teams in larger organizations) in the Bay Area, tackling problems requiring computational and machine learning solutions. Outside of work, John is a proud parent of three daughters, aged 10, 12, and 14, with his wife Ava. A lifetime resident of the Bay Area, John grew up in Palo Alto and later moved to the small town of Brisbane, located between San Francisco and South San Francisco. He is looking forward to getting involved in the SV2 community, learning how he can help make the Bay Area a better and more equitable place for everyone who lives here. He feels incredibly lucky to live in a place that offers groups like SV2 to join.

Food Distribution with Puente

Wednesday 6/4 | 1:30 pm - 6:30 pm | In Person | Puente

Join us in supporting Puente’s Food Distribution Event! Volunteers will assist with distributing a variety of food items to over 200 households. Please note that volunteers will be lifting up to 30 pounds repeatedly during the shift and standing for up to 5 hours. What to bring: A hat, closed-toed shoes, and work gloves.

Food Distribution with Redwood City Together
